Objectives
Contribute to the development of the horticultural value chain, with an emphasis on litchi and avocado, using an inclusive and sustainable approach.
UNIDO works in Manica, specifically in the Báruè District, to:
• Strengthen the cooperative’s governance and organizational capacity
• Diversify and improve the quality of the fruit produced by the cooperative
• Increase the capacity for fruit aggregation and preservation
• Improve fruit transportation and distribution services
• Develop an internal monitoring and evaluation system for the cooperative

Solar Powered Agro Hub

The Solar Powered Agro Hub was built in Catandica village and it is the cooperative’s headquarters.
The Hub is also used for aggregating agricultural products from the cooperative members.
Additionally, the Hub has a fully equipped computer room, used to train the surrounding community in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
The hub contributes to improving fruit quality, achieving economies of scale, and strengthening market linkages for the cooperative members.
